About Our Project

The vision for this project is to open up library data in order to:

• Increase information sharing among libraries,
• Expand funding opportunities for mobile services' programs by supplying additional data, and
• Heighten mobile services' visibility, while also emphasizing ethics, accessibility, and protection of patron privacy.

About the Capstone Team

Erica Husting will graduate with her master's in library and information science (MLIS) from the University of Washington Information School in June 2020. While in library school, she's focused on academic, children's, and youth librarianship. She works as a research and learning services specialist for the UW Libraries. She also served as co-president of iYouth from 2019-2020. Before getting her MLIS, Erica worked in public relations. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Cal Poly. Kaitlin Throgmorton will graduate with her master's in library and information science (MLIS) from the University of Washington Information School in June 2020. While in library school, she's focused on open data, data curation, and civic engagement. She works as a research assistant for the Open Data Literacy project. She served as co-president of the Association of Library and Information Science Students (ALISS) from 2019-2020. Before getting her MLIS, Kaitlin worked in communications, public relations, and journalism. She holds bachelor's degrees in English and Spanish from Covenant College.
